Dovo Black Star Straight Razor Laminated Wood & Black Anodised Blade
This sleek, stylish, straight razor is made in Germany to the highest standard by Dovo of Solingen, well-known around the world for their expert craftsmanship and quality.

The Dovo Black Star is a full hollow, round tip, 5/8 inch, straight razor, made using Swedish carbon steel with 24K gold etching on the blade face and a glossy black powder coating on the spine and tang.

While carbon steel requires more care and maintenance compared with stainless steel, most straight razor enthusiasts still prefer carbon blades as they are easier to hone and can be sharpened more precisely.

The handle is constructed from laminated Pakkawood, which is waterproof and more resistant to warping or splitting than regular wood.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: This straight razor requires special care to keep it at its best. The cutting edge needs to be protected from contact or impact with any hard surface at all times. After each shave, you will need to clean and dry your straight razor with a soft paper towel, taking care not to touch the cutting edge, then strop it to keep the blade sharp. Use the canvas side of your strop to clean the cutting edge after each shave. If you won’t be using your razor for more than a couple of days, you will need to cover it with a light coat of oil to ensure it stays rust-free, this is particularly important with carbon steel blades. We always recommend taking your straight razor to a professional for sharpening unless you have extensive honing experience as its easy to make an irreparable mistake and damage your blade.
